Carpooling
Save money, reduce wear and tear on your car, and share the ride!

“The CommuteSmart program helps save on the wear and tear of my vehicle and allows me to meet new people.”
Carpooling is the shared use of a car by the driver and one or more passengers and is a great way to get to and from work.
Not to mention that sharing the ride will help take some of the stress out of driving. Best of all, your commuting cost could drop by 50 percent and you may be eligible to save on insurance costs.
Don't worry if you don't have a car. There are plenty of people in our database who are willing to do all the driving. You can register and run a ridematch to see who might live close to you and work close to you for potential carpool partners!
Tips for Getting Started
Get a group of friends and co-workers together who have a similar work schedule or register in our online ridematch database. You may also download the rideshare application.

Plan ahead! Make arrangements to meet potential carpool partners ahead of time to map out all the details.
Be open-minded but establish some ground rules.
Do something fun! Bring donuts once in a while or meet for lunch. Ridesharing can be a great way to meet people and establish friendships.
